The Falcons haven’t had a good start to this game—they’re somehow only down by four despite that—but it got worse with Ricardo Allen’s injury.
Allen got stiff armed out of the play on Jared Cook’s big pickup earlier, but he’s one of the team’s most important defenders, and if he misses any time today it’ll hurt this already shaky Falcons defense.

We’re waiting for the status update, but while Allen is out, Jamal Carter will be in. Carter has shown good physicality and athleticism in his opportunities this season, but is clearly a major work in progress as a safety, so we’ll hope Allen will be back soon.
UPDATE: Allen is coming back in!
Ricardo Allen has a knee injury, but he will return to the game, #Falcons announce.
