Here we are. After two straight games of incredible defensive performances on the road, the Falcons came home and the defense regressed into a nightmare unit designed to lift up our hopes and dash them against the rocks in the most painful way possible.
The 20-interception, Jameis Winston-led Buccaneers scored 35 on Atlanta’s home turf. So, we’re going to vote on who sucks the hardest. Bon appétit.
Vic Beasley
The Falcons are paying $13 million dollars for this. One tackle. No sacks. Blank stares into the distance. Against an offensive line that’s not nearly as good as what the Saints had to offer, he was the invisible man again. I’m not sure where he’ll land in 2020, but if it’s in Atlanta, you can count me out.
Dan Quinn
The hopes and dreams of having a great defense in Atlanta were elevated when Quinn got here. Watching guys like Ricardo Allen, Keanu Neal, Deion Jones and Grady Jarrett made us believe in his vision and his ability to find talent. Yet, here we are. Giving up 35 at home to the Bucs. This feels like a final goodbye.
I like you Dan. I really, really do. Not all of this is your fault, but as the guy at the top it ultimately falls on you. This season has broken me and it’s time for you to go.
Jameis Winston
Dude. You tried desperately to hand us the game in the first quarter. You have 20 interceptions already to go with your mind-blowing 11 fumbles. Yet, the Falcons let your team score 35 on them. THIRTY-FIVE. Of all the days for you to go full on Dr. Jekyll, you picked this Falcons game. Good luck in the XFL next year.
