Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, other key Falcons trending up on Thursday’s injury report

Good news!

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Thursday’s injury report is full of good news. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Desmond Trufant were all upgraded to full participation.

It’s not surprising, considering that the team has given Jones Wednesdays as rest days at times. Ryan is still working his way to full health from a high ankle sprain, so letting him take it easy on Wednesday isn’t a bad idea.

Trufant was limited Wednesday with a lingering toe injury, so his upgrade to full participation is encouraging.

Both John Cominsky and Adrian Clayborn were limited in Thursday’s practice after being held out on Wednesday.

It wasn’t all good news. Devonta Freeman and Austin Hooper were both still sidelined on Thursday, and I wouldn’t expect either to be ready to go this week. Kemal Ishmael is dealing with a concussion and is still sidelined, and Takk McKinley was still out with the shoulder injury he suffered against Carolina.

Here’s the complete injury report, and we’ll see what Friday holds.
