Watching the Falcons absolutely steamroll the Saints and the Panthers left us with a burning question. Where did this Falcons team even come from?
After being one of the league’s worst defenses through the first half of the season, the Falcons all of a sudden look dominant on that side of the ball. Atlanta had seven sacks coming into the Saints game. Now they’ve got 18 on the season after taking down Drew Brees and Kyle Allen 11 times over those two games. The last two NFC special teams players of the week were Falcons Younghoe Koo and Kenjon Barner. The offense hasn’t been overly dynamic, but they’re certainly doing more than enough to lock up wins, especially with the improved defensive and special teams play.
It’s been such a dramatic turnaround that we can’t help but wonder where this team came from.

Seriously, what were they even doing during the first half of the season?
