The Falcons are coming off their first impressive win of the season, a victory over the Saints that I will savor for quite some time. Can they do it again, this time over the Panthers?

That very much remains to be seen. That huge performance from Atlanta was precipitated by a number of small changes to the coaching staff and lineup that appeared to make a major difference on defense, but the offense was still not firing on all cylinders and the Saints made a number of frankly uncharacteristic mistakes. Asking them to put up that kind of performance for the second straight week on the road might be too much.

That said, this isn’t the Saints we’re talking about. This Panthers team isn’t a pushover by any stretch of the imagination, but they have holes that the Falcons figure to be able to take advantage of, from a weak run defense to a passing game led by a rather unproven young quarterback. The team we saw last week might be able to take advantage of that and steal one on the road. The team we’ve seen the rest of the season is going to get destroyed. It really is a question of which one shows up.

Either way, you’ll be watching! Here’s how you’ll do so.

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers, Week 11

When: Sunday, November 17, 1 p.m. EST

Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina

Channel: FOX

Announcers: Dick Stockton, Mark Schlereth, Jennifer Hale

Key Questions: Can the Falcons build on their impressive performance against the Saints and beat the strongly disliked Panthers on the road? Who is going to take Devonta Freeman and Austin Hooper’s target share? Can the defense hold Christian McCaffrey in check?

Prediction: Falcons win, 27-21
