The Falcons lost today. Again. Let me know if you’ve heard this story before.
It’s hard to diagnose what’s wrong with the Falcons. Sure, you could start with Dan Quinn, because he should undoubtedly shoulder substantial blame. But there’s no simple solution waiting to be implemented. Fixing this team is going to take time, patience, and lots of duct tape.
Without further ado, let’s break downs some injuries!
Rookie edge John Cominsky injured his ankle and was ruled out. There was some Twitter chatter about him having suffered a potential achilles injury, but given the fact that he was walking along the sideline, that seems unlikely.
WR2 Calvin Ridley suffered a head injury today. He took a hard hit near the sideline which caused his head to ricochet off the turf. It looked like he was actually knocked out cold for 5-10 seconds but he came back into the game after getting evaluated on the sideline. (For what it’s worth, the team initially hit him with a “questionable” designation.) This is the play in question.
Calvin Ridley returned to the game after this. That's wild. pic.twitter.com/U7yqQPFBxJ

I really have no idea how the team decided to put Ridley back in the game after a hit like that. There’s literally no reason to jeopardize the long-term health of anyone on the roster. But then again, this is the NFL and stuff like this happens every week.
