Falcons vs. Seahawks: Who was the defensive player of the game?

It wasn’t all bad news on the defensive side.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons defense had a solid second half on Sunday against the Seahawks. While they looked mostly incompetent for the first two quarters, they appeared far more capable in the third and fourth.

There were some bright spots and we’ll highlight them here for you to vote on.

Grady Jarrett

It seems like he’s on this list every week, but he is for good reason. Grady is one of the lone bright spots on a terrible, terrible defense. He manhandled the backup center of the Seahawks and registered his fourth sack of the season. No matter what the Falcons do in 2020, it’s clear that the defensive rebuild will include this man. He’s worth every penny we paid him.

Tyeler Davison

Next to Jarrett, the only respectable player on the defensive line has been Davison. He also netted a sack on the day and has been a consistently solid performer all year.

Kendall Sheffield

Forget the box score. Sheffield was playing well all afternoon. He gave up two passes to Tyler Lockett but was in absolutely perfect position. He was simply beat by a perfect pass and amazing reception both times. Under normal circumstances, those would have been great defensive plays and gives us some hope for what Sheffield can do down the road.
