Not ideal, but nothing really is this season.

The injury bug has hit the Falcons early on in this week’s game, as rookie John Cominsky has suffered an ankle injury. He’s been ruled out for the rest of the game, per Will McFadden of AtlantaFalcons.com.

92.9 The Game’s Wendy Adams had the initial scoop here:

Cominsky was up and walking, which is good news. Former Falcons WR Brian Finneran thought the injury looked like an Achilles in real time, and if Cominsky is up and walking, that’s at least an encouraging sign that we’re not looking at something season-ending for the promising young defensive end.

If the Falcons were planning to try to move Vic Beasley, a Cominsky injury may complicate things. A Beasley trade would likely result in increased action for Cominsky, who’s had six tackles, one of which was behind the line of scrimmage, and one pass breakup in his rookie year.

Hopefully it’s nothing serious, and the rookie is able to get back into this game quickly. The Falcons currently trail the Seahawks 10-0.
