Falcons - Seahawks: Key info and open thread for Week 8

The 5-2 Seahawks will try to beat the stuffing out of the 1-6 Falcons, and they will likely succeed.

Hey, it’s gametime again.

We’ve all been at this a long time—some of us a very, very long time—so you know the score. The Falcons are huge underdogs in this game and it would take a bonkers series of events for them to win it, given how they’ve played, so I’d put the chances of that at about 50%. The Falcons love to surprise in the way you may not want them to, after all.

Look for Atlanta to trot out some new faces on both sides of the ball as they try to straddle the line between competing this year and getting ready for what I hope is a much better 2020.

Use this as your open thread for the first half, and let’s see what lies ahead.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Seattle Seahawks, Week 8

Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia

Channel: FOX

Announcers: Sam Rosen, Ronde Barber, Sara Walsh

Key Questions: Can the Falcons get after Russell Wilson to avoid becoming the only team in NFL history with no sacks in five straight games? Can Matt Schaub hold down the fort and come away with a W? Can the Falcons get at least one unexpected win this year before the turnover hammer comes down?

Prediction: Falcons lose, 35-21
