The Atlanta Falcons have another tough matchup this week as the Seattle Seahawks come to town. The Falcons have some lingering injuries which will impact the game, as we have an update on players who won’t suit up on Sunday.
The team has ruled out Desmond Trufant (toe), Ito Smith (concussion) and James Carpenter (knee) for the Seahawks game. Per D. Orlando Ledbetter, the Falcons will rotate both Ty Sambrailo and Wes Schweitzer at guard in Carpenter’s absence. With Trufant on the shelf, meanwhile, Kendall Sheffield and Isaiah Oliver will start outside. Ito’s absence means work for both Brian Hill and Qadree Ollison for a change.
The injury that most fans have their eye on is quarterback Matt Ryan, who endured an ankle injury in last weeks loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Ryan is officially listed as questionable, and if he sits veteran Matt Schaub will start for the Falcons will the team calling up Danny Etling from the practice squad to play backup. The team will need to make a decision soon in order to elevate Etling.
It’s entirely possible that Matt Ryan plays this weekend, as he did practice today and looked to be moving around pretty well.

For those unable to play this weekend, the Falcons are on a bye next week, so they’ll have plenty of time to get healthy. We’ll see if Ryan is able to suit up on Sunday.
