The Falcons defense gave up 30 points on Sunday to a Rams offense that has been struggling in recent weeks. The defensive coordinator - Dan Quinn - has been giving up 30+ points to struggling teams for weeks and is likely going to get fired before the season ends. Yet, there are some bright spots on this terrible, terrible defense. For whoever takes over this defense next season, I hope you appreciate the players who continued to deliver in spite of the terrible record.
Deion Jones
Jones continues to show why he deserved the big contract this offseason. He finished the game with 9 tackles, with 3 of those for a loss. Debo has been consistent for the entire season and he’s looking more and more like his Pro Bowl self. It’s a shame that no one else is joining him.
Grady Jarrett
What more can be said of this man? The stats don’t tell the story, as Jarrett continues to disrupt the middle of every offensive line he faces. He’s been the only player on defense that has showed up every single week and is someone offensive coordinators have to plan for. The Falcons are lucky to have him.
Damontae Kazee
The third year player has struggled to adapt to playing corner but had a good game against the Rams. He had 2 tackles for loss on the day and looks like he’s finally adjusting to his new role, which was needed on a day where little else went right.
