Matt Ryan heads to the locker room, quickly ruled out with ankle injury

An awful day turns into an even more awful day.

After taking a shot from Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, Matt Ryan was seen limping off the field with help from the trainers. He would head directly to the medical tent and Matt Schaub would begin to warm-up on the sidelines.

He’s got a little time because the Falcons are on defense—Matt Ryan’s fumble was indeed ruled a recovery for Aaron Donald—but it looks like the Falcons could be looking at a legitimate injury for their franchise quarterback, who has only missed two games in his career. This would be the cherry on the effluent sundae that has been the 2019 Falcons season, but in the interest of not jinxing anything, we’ll wait for further updates from the broadcast or the team’s reporting crew.

Suffice to say this season stinks and we can’t wait until it’s over.

Update: According to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure: While Matt Ryan exited the medical tent and was seen standing on the sidelines, he is headed to the locker room.

Update II: According to the Falcoholic’s Adnan Ikic, Matt Ryan was ruled out for the remainder of the game with an ankle injury.
