The battle of two legitimate NFC contenders happens TONIGHT.

The Packers are legitimately good. The Lions are better than some of their up-and-down games suggest, and overall, the NFC North is one of the better divisions in football. That makes tonight’s matchup a worthy one for Monday Night Football.

The Packers have flourished under new head coach Matt LaFleur. The offense hasn’t exactly been dominant just yet, despite LaFleur being an offensive hire, but it’s been good enough in conjunction with an impressive defense to get Green Bay to 4-1. Even with the Vikings clearly surging, the Packers are probably the favorite in the NFC North.

The Lions, meanwhile, are just 2-1-1 but are working with a pretty good defense and arguably Matt Stafford’s best-ever start to a season, which is keeping them in games. They have an uphill battle to go anywhere in this division, but they can get things started tonight with a win over the Packers.

Enjoy watching and not thinking about the Falcons for a bit.
