Falcons vs. Cardinals kicks off at 4:05 p.m. ET, so let’s chat about the early NFL games

We’ve got a lot of games to get through before the Falcons take the field.

The Falcons don’t play until 4:05 p.m. ET, when they’ll take the field against the Cardinals. So let’s chat about the early games while we wait.

One of the early matchups is Washington vs, the Dolphins, and woof. I guess the good news is that, unless they tie, one of these teams will finally have a win this season. It’s interesting to look at the fan confidence for both teams courtesy of SB Nation’s NFL FanPulse. Somehow, Dolphins fans actually have some confidence in the direction of their team. Washington fans have very little, but they did bump up slightly from zero percent last week.

Elsewhere around the NFC South, the Panthers faced off against the Buccaneers at 9:30 a.m. ET in London. The Saints will take on the Jaguars in Jacksonville, and while I’ve been a low-key Gardner Minshew fan, I’ll be a full-blown one today.

The Saints are in a good spot to run away with the division, or at least battle it out with the Cam Newton-less Panthers, what with the Falcons being terrible and the Buccaneers being the Buccaneers. I’d love to see a Jaguars win and the correlating drop in Saints fans’ confidence after today’s game.

Other than that, I’m interested to see Texans vs, Chiefs. The Texans obviously had themselves a day against the Falcons last week, but the Chiefs are most certainly not the Falcons. The Chiefs are coming off of a stunning loss to the Colts, and fan confidence was shaken. We’ll see if the Texans can keep the offensive momentum they developed last week against Atlanta going in the hostile confines of Arrowhead Stadium this afternoon.

Enjoy the early games, folks, and discuss them in the comments.
