Lukayus McNeil started 46 games in four seasons at Louisville and has played both tackle and guard. McNeil is a young offensive lineman who has spent time with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, after going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Falcons also signed linebacker Ahmad Thomas to the practice squad. Thomas went undrafted in 2017 and has spent time with the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts. The 24-year-old appeared in two games for the Colts last season, playing 15 snaps on defense and 21 snaps on special teams.
To make way for these signings, the team parted ways with defensive end Austin Larkin and punter Matt Wile. Larkin was a promising prospect this preseason, but has been on and off the Falcons’ practice squad this season. Matt Wile has filled in for punter Matt Bosher twice in his career, and the move should reassure fans that Bosher must be at or near full health.
