Hey Falcoholics, I’m back with another edition of the “Brother of the Week.” This weekly segment highlights an Atlanta Falcons player who displayed selflessness and gave their all for the team, which fits what Dan Quinn is always saying he’s looking for from this football team. Last week’s selection was wide receiver Mohamed Sanu.
Without further ado, the Brother of the Week for Week 4 against the Tennessee Titans is tight end Austin Hooper.
Similar to last week against the Indianapolis Colts, the Falcons played lackluster, undisciplined football against the Titans. It again was a tough decision, but Austin Hooper really did stand out. Hooper has been a reliable target for Matt Ryan this season, as Ryan continues to throw the ball a lot more than he normally does. Of Matt Ryan’s 53 pass attempts on Sunday, nine of them were caught by Hooper for 130 yards. The 130 receiving yards is a career high for Hooper, as his previous best came in Week 1 of the 2017 season against the Chicago Bears.
I, like many of you, hope the team suddenly turns it around. Many of you have probably given up, and that’s fair considering the team at times looks like they have. Regardless of what the future holds, let’s try and appreciate that guys like Austin Hooper, Grady Jarrett, and others are out there giving their all.
Who would your ‘Brother of the Week’ selection be? Thanks for reading.
