Falcons vs. Saints inactives: Freeman, McKinley headline list, G Andrus Peat out for NO

New, comments

A few key faces will be out today for Atlanta.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Jacksonville Jaguars Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

As the Atlanta Falcons prepare for round one of their 2018 rivalry bouts with the New Orleans Saints, we now know for sure who won’t be around for this one.

The Falcons will be without starters RB Devonta Freeman and DE Takkarist McKinley Sunday, along with key reserve DE Derrick Shelby.

Safety Keith Tandy is also inactive, so that means Jordan Richards is once again the main guy at strong safety outside of Ricardo Allen and Damontae Kazee filtering in there.

Guard Ben Garland is active for the first time this season, as are rookie CB Isaiah Oliver and LB Richard Jarvis. Corner Blidi Wreh-Wilson is inactive.

For the Saints, starting left guard Andrus Peat pops up as a last-minute inactive name after being limited in practice this week.

Per ESPN’s depth chart, G Josh LeRibeus would step in for Peat.

LB Manti Te’o and DT Tyeler Davison are the big names here for New Orleans besides Peat.
