Wes Schweitzer assumes starting duties

Andy Levitre’s season-ending triceps injury was yet another tile to fall in this game of Devil’s Dominoes the Falcons have been playing on the health front. Levitre likely played his last snap for the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday, and in the three seasons he’s been with the team he’s proven a solid asset when fully healthy.

Third-year guard Wes Schweitzer assumed left guard duties in Levitre’s stead, and did an admirable job. He’s been praised for his progression at the position during training camp and the preseason, and now seems that it’s his job to lose.

Who would you swap?

A requisite feature here at The Falcoholic, Dave Choate would like to know who you would snag from the Saints given the opportunity or unfortunate luck. Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara — there’s a few guys on that team that would look real nice in red and black.

Calf injury plague

What in the sam hell is this?

Yeah it does — but it’s true! Calf injuries abound in the Atlanta Falcons locker room, and the player highlighting that list is Julio Jones. Julio didn’t exhibit any discomfort in Sunday’s win over the Panthers, so odds are it’s just an easy day off. But the calf injuries appear to be catching.
