It’s an understatement to say that the Falcons upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers is an important one. It’s the Falcons first game at home, the first within the NFC South and they’re already in the hole with an 0-1 record. It’s only week 2, but this already feels like a must-win game for Atlanta.
To talk about this game and all the stories around it, Jeanna and DW are joined by Brian Beversluis from Cat Scratch Reader, the Panthers site under SB Nation. Some of what is discussed:
- How injuries have ravaged both teams early this season
- Why the Falcons defense will fall-off, but could still be “good enough”
- Why the Panthers losses on their offensive line could be the difference maker in this game
- Optimism that Matt Ryan bouncing back will produce a much better offensive output
- Leaning on guys like Ricardo Allen and Grady Jarrett to keep this defense decent
