The Atlanta Falcons have added a bit of royalty to their practice squad. In name, at least.
Former Washington CB Prince Charles Iworah joined the ensemble Wednesday to help give it its requisite number.
Though he’s not exactly part of any royal family we’re aware of, Iworah had a standout career at Western Kentucky that got him drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.
Iworah’s made stops in Kansas City and Washington before he came to Atlanta.
He will replace CB Deante Burton on the unit. Burton, who had a cup of coffee on the active roster in Week 1, was claimed by Green Bay Tuesday after being waived by the Falcons post-emergency Philly call-up.
The Falcons have done a lot of roster shuffling this week in wake of the injury bug making its season debut in the worst possible way, but this move should get them back to the limit on both the 53-man roster and the practice squad.
We welcome Iworah to Flowery Branch and hope his coronation into the Brotherhood goes smoothly.
We also wish Burton all the best as he joins the Pack’s 53.
