After his electric play against the Miami Dolphins in game four of the preseason, many thought undrafted back Malik Williams had secured a practice squad spot, if not as a surprise fourth running back on the 53. It looks like neither will happen, thanks to a shoulder injury from the game.

RB Malik Williams seeking second opinion on shoulder injury. Looks like he's headed for a injury settlement with the #Falcons. https://t.co/ncJGtDQiYk

Williams looked like a weapon both running and catching the ball. He was definitely behind rookie Ito Smith on the draft chart, but the shoulder injury, if confirmed, will reportedly keep him off of the roster. It’s unclear if the Falcons are interested in bringing him back after his shoulder heals.
