Here’s Friday’s addition of our new daily series, which collects all of the Falcons news you need to know from the previous day and puts it in one convenient place. Let’s just say that I’m happy that the preseason is over. It’s on to Philadelphia now, but before that the Falcons need to trim the roster to 53. Check out all the biggest headlines from yesterday below.
CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson injured during the Dolphins game
Blidi Wreh-Wilson left Thursday’s game with an apparent shoulder injury. We hope that he’s OK, but why was he even playing in this game? Wilson was dependable veteran depth at CB—it’d be a shame to lose him like his.
Recap the thoroughly unwatchable Dolphins game
Well, this one was hard to watch. The Falcons reserves lost quite handily, 34-7, to the Dolphins at home in the fourth preseason game. Thankfully, real football is just a week away.
Follow along with roster cuts
We should be seeing a steady stream of roster cuts for the Falcons beginning today and possibly going as long as Saturday. Check out how I did in my final 53-man roster projection, see who’s available to stash on the practice squad, and follow along with our live tracker.
The Falcoholic staff makes their picks for Week 4 of the preseason
That’s right, we did it. If you’d like to see how each of us did, you can check out all our picks here. Don’t worry—we aren’t keeping score until the regular season starts.
Episode 49 of The Falcoholic Live now available in podcast form
If you missed Wednesday’s live taping, you can also get the show in podcast form on Soundcloud, iTunes, and Stitcher. We talk quite a bit about the roster, expected cuts, and Week 1, so you’ll definitely want to check it out.
That’s all for this morning. Who are some players that you think made a statement for a roster spot? Anyone that you’re hoping the Falcons pick up after roster cuts?
