The Atlanta Falcons will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in their second preseason game Friday evening. In just about 72 hours, we’ll get to complain on Twitter about Steve Sarkisian’s play calling another glimpse at Dan Quinn’s squad. Winning and losing don’t necessarily matter, but this is an important game, for various reasons. First, fans want to see the offense put some points on the board. Second, there are some heated position battles that still need to be sorted out.

According to Chiefs reporter BJ Kissel, the Falcons will face head coach Andy Reid’s first-team offense for half of the game on Friday.

The Chiefs ranked 5th in total offense last season, so this will be a good, early test for the young Falcons defense. QB Patrick Mahomes isn’t a rookie anymore, and now he’s got Sammy Watkins to score touchdowns for him. Mahomes’ canon arm will be on display, so the Falcons secondary better keep their heads on a swivel. Best case scenario, Watkins can’t get going and our resident tight end killer, Deion Jones, makes Travis Kelce into a non-factor. Worst case scenario, the defense struggles, the offense struggles, and Falcoholics everywhere lose their minds as the Falcons fall to 0-2 in the preseason.
