Atlanta Falcons hosting open training camp practice at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

The Falcons will have a rare open practice in Atlanta, this time in their shiny new stadium.

We look forward to open training camp every year, but I’m going to be honest for one second. Driving 45 miles outside of Atlanta to roast on the viewing hill in the Georgia heat is not always pleasant. The Falcons will finally get some practice inside the perimeter at an open practice at the new Benz stadium. Be prepared to shell out $5 per ticket, along with parking.

Per the mothership:

The “Together We Rise - Falcons Fan Day” event and fully-padded practice marks the third day of training camp for the 2018-2019 season. Season ticket members and the general public can take the opportunity to watch the Falcons practice inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tickets are $5 per person with all ticketing proceeds benefiting the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee’s capital improvement project.

Arrive early to witness the first public showcase of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium roof opening (weather permitting) as well as its award-winning Food & Beverage experience, cheerleader and drumline performances, youth flag football scrimmages and a host of other live-event entertainment.

Fan Day sounds like an amped up open camp, along with a roof opening ceremony before some practice. Doors open on July 29 at 11, they open the roof at noon, and practice starts at 12:30.

I dig the different locations for practice. The Panthers play in Charlotte, North Carolina, but do training camp in Spartanburg, South Carolina to improve accessibility to some fans. This will make it much easier for a lot of Atlantans to check out practice, and may be the cheapest way you will ever get into that stadium.
