The Falcons will see their rookie WR Calvin Ridley return to practice Sunday after being attended to by trainers Saturday for a hamstring/knee ailment.
Though, second-year rusher Takk McKinley will miss Sunday’s session at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with a shoulder bruise.
Dan Quinn said Takk McKinley (shoulder) will be held out and Calvin Ridley (leg) will participate.

Obviously, there was a little worry with Ridley getting hurt, but all seems to be clear on that front, which is great news as the Alabama alum tries to get acclimated into the league and into the Falcons’ offense.
McKinley’s is likely more cautionary than anything, with him just having shoulder surgery in the offseason (though, we’re unsure as to if this is the shoulder he had operated on recently) and this being early into camp.
We don’t know the extent of Smith or Sambrailo’s injuries just yet, though Smith’s does give you a little concern, since he’s a rookie and needs his camp reps. We’ll hope that his is minor, as well, so he can get back into practice and hone his role in the offense and on special teams.
The division has already seen Panthers T Daryl Williams tear his MCL, and DT Vita Vea sprain his calf, so let’s hope Atlanta avoids the injury bug as they push forth into training camp.
We’ll keep you updated on the statuses of McKinley, Smith and Sambrailo, just as we’ll celebrate that Ridley is ready to return to practice.
