The Atlanta Falcons have four of their draft picks under contract, which is good news. It’s also probably some of the only Falcons-related news we’re going to get this month, so soak it up.
The players in question are second round cornerback Isaiah Oliver, who is expected to become the team’s starting outside cornerback opposite Desmond Trufant in nickel sets; fourth round running back Ito Smith, who figures to be the #3 back in 2018 and possibly Devonta Freeman’s backup next year; sixth round receiver Russell Gage, the likely #5 or #6 receiver and one of the team’s gunners; and sixth rounder Foye Oluokun, an athletic linebacker who figures to primarily chip in on special teams in his first season.
Falcons announce they have agreed to terms with four draft picks but not first rounder Calvin Ridley just yet pic.twitter.com/4OmdCz6e76— vaughn mcclure (@vxmcclure23) May 9, 2018
I had thought we had multiple reports of Calvin Ridley signing, but evidently that happened in an alternate dimension we are no longer part of. Hopefully he and Deadrin Senat will sign soon, and we can keep discussing how these rookies will fit in with this promising Falcons football team.
