Matt and Sarah Ryan shared some wonderful news with the world on Sunday. They’ve welcomed twin boys, Marshall Thomas Ryan and John Matthew Ryan, to the world.
Sarah announced the exciting news in an Instagram post and explained what she and Matt and their boys have been through over the past few months.
Carrying a baby to term is a delicate process even if we’re just talking about one baby. It’s almost impossible with twins and other multiples. A single pregnancy is considered full term around 39 to 40 weeks. Twins almost never wait that long to make their entrance, and complications like low birth weight and respiratory problems from still-developing lungs make those first few weeks after birth touch-and-go for many families.
I know from conversations with friends and other Falcons fans that many of us have been anxious for an update on the babies. Matt missed practice in the week leading up to the divisional game against the Eagles, which sparked concern for the well being of Sarah and the twins. The boys are healthy and strong enough to be home, and that is the best possible news.
We’re delighted for the Ryans, and we wish the new parents and their sweet little ones the very best.
