The Falcons added to their already-solid draft haul on Saturday, selecting Ito Smith with the No. 126 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Things didn’t work out last season with the team’s selection of Brian Hill. Smith is versatile with a well-rounded skill set. He’s a talented rusher and a capable receiver out of the backfield.
Smith is arguably the most underrated running back in the 2018 draft. To say he was productive for Southern Miss last year is an understatement. Smith put up 1,415 rushing yards, and 13 touchdowns on the ground. He added 40 receptions for 396 yards and two touchdowns and earned a trip to Mobile for the Senior Bowl.
The selection of Smith does raise some questions about the future of the Falcons’ backfield. This may signal that the team doesn’t see Tevin Coleman, a third-round pick in 2015, as part of the team’s long-term plans.
If you need an intro on Smith, this clip sums up this athletic abilities.

Ito’s an unusual name. Where did it come from?
Falcons took Ito Smith. Ito's not his real name. It's his nickname, because when he was a baby his family thought he looked like Judge Lance Ito. In related news, the dudes getting drafted were babies during the OJ trial.
