The Falcons are re-living the Matt Ryan pick and the 2008 NFL Draft today, and we’ll join them

Here’s what to expect.

Believe it or not, today is the anniversary of the 2008 NFL Draft. The Falcons uncovered several pieces that sparked their success from 2008-2012, but none bigger than Matt Ryan.

The team is going to be re-living that draft class today—particularly the Ryan pick—with “live” coverage of the 2008 draft. You can follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #10Yearsof2. We’re never one to miss the opportunity for a little well-aimed nostalgia, so you can expect to see some of that coverage happening here at The Falcoholic as well. After all, I’ve been here since the 2006 season, which means I distinctly remember the run-up to the Ryan selection and oh god I’m old.

Ahem. For our part, we’re going to send ourselves back in time and write about this draft class as we would have back in 2008. You will not be surprised to learn that this will involve at least one Glenn Dorsey hot take.

Of course, we’ll be talking about the 2018 NFL Draft, too, and reacting to any breaking news as we always would. As you were!
