Atlanta Falcons talk: Post-Combine, who does the team draft first?

A few standouts from the Combine probably solidified their places on the team’s wish list.

Happy Wednesday night! You brave souls have made it more than halfway through the workweek, and that deserves a celebration. Since I don’t have a celebration ready, how about some Falcons draft discussion, instead?

Wait, don’t go!

If you’re still here, let’s talk about who the Falcons are picking first in this draft class. After the Combine, we perhaps have a better idea of where our favorites are going to go.

I’m leaning toward Taven Bryan at this point. The Falcons desperately need to address the defensive line and could use a strong, stout player to pair with Grady Jarrett, and Bryan checks all the athletic testing boxes this team looks for, as Charles McDonald will outline on the site soon. I’d prefer Maurice Hurst, Vita Vea, or Da’Ron Payne, personally, but it looks likely that both Vea and Payne will be gone already, and Hurst’s stock could drop with the heart condition he’s dealing with. Bryan makes a ton of sense for Atlanta because of their positional need, his obvious athleticism and skill, and his connections to Florida, a program Dan Quinn knows very well.

Failing Bryan, I could see Iowa guard James Daniels or Georgia guard Isaiah Wynn in the mix. How about you?
