Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan’s extension is coming, as soon as Kirk Cousins stops ruining my life sooner or later. Unless the vibranium-infused supersuit Chad Boseman wears in Black Panther gets picked up by Bed Bath & Beyond, the team will need to use old school methods to keep him healthy for the foreseeable future. One such option is an upgrade at right guard.

We’ve been eyeing this year’s crop of offensive line prospects closely. And at this point, none of us will be surprised if the Falcons use their first or second round picks to draft Wes Schweitzer’s replacement. Pro Football Focus published their latest mock draft yesterday, and they too see the Falcons going OG in the first round. They believe the Falcons will draft The University of Georgia’s Isaiah Wynn.

Need and value match up well here for the Falcons as they go into the offseason with a big hole at guard and Wynn is a perfect transition to convert from left tackle to guard at the next level. He ranked fifth among draft-class tackles with a pass-blocking efficiency of 98.7 and he plays with natural leverage in the run game that translated to an 88.6 grade last season.

If you’re a Georgia fan, then you’re probably fond of this pick. Maybe I’m naive, but I still won’t be shocked if the Falcons don’t take such an aggressive approach to resolving their woes at right guard.

So what do you think, Falcoholics? Should the Falcons draft Isaiah Wynn in the first round? Discuss!
