Atlanta Falcons select University of Florida DT Taven Bryan in SB Nation’s latest mock

Fact: Taven Bryan draws several charcoal self portraits a day

NFL: Combine Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons are likely to draft a defensive tackle in the first round of next month’s NFL draft. It’s more or less a foregone conclusion at this point. If the Falcons don’t draft a DT with the 26th pick in the NFL draft, Dave will undoubtedly relapse and things will get weird.

SB Nation’s Dan Kadar released his latest mock draft today. And guess what? He has the Falcons drafting a defensive tackle!

26. Atlanta Falcons: Taven Bryan, DT, Florida

There are several interior defensive linemen the Falcons could get if they hold at No. 26. Bryan may be the best of the bunch. His draft range starts at Dallas at No. 19. He would give Atlanta a powerful lineman who knows how to get into the backfield. His technique needs some work, but if anyone can coach it into him, it’s the Atlanta staff.

This isn’t the first time Kadar has mocked Bryan to the Falcons. In fact, you’ve probably heard Bryan’s name bandied about frequently over the past several weeks. Do yourself a favor and read Eric Robinson’s scouting report, if you haven’t already.

What are your thoughts, Falcoholics? Would you approve of the Falcons drafting Bryan in the first round?
