We passed along the report that the Atlanta Falcons were “very interested” in tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins. The connection makes a lot of sense. The team was already short on tight ends before they cut Levine Toilolo. Seferian-Jenkins is a young tight end with plenty of upside, but has not been consistent enough to earn a huge deal in free agency. That means the Falcons can afford to reunite him with his college coach Steve Sarkisian.
Is Seferian-Jenkins interested in Atlanta? According to his verified Instagram account, yes. Warning: this screenshot from his Instagram may contain a very bad word.

Reunion with Sark? I think the Falcons could make that work. If you were curious if he might stick around with the New York Jets, that sounds unlikely.

I think this is the first time we covered Instagram since Ra’Shede Hageman slid into some DMs looking for weed.
I will be curious where his market lands. He’s never had a good offensive situation in his career, and has only produced mediocre numbers. There’s tons of potential there and he has definitely flashed it in games before. He will hopefully come at a price that allows the Falcons to bookend him with Austin Hooper.
At the very least, it sounds like both sides are interested in a deal.
