Matt Ryan led the Falcons to the playoffs once again in 2017, and in the process, he played every single one of his team's snaps this season. That’s something only 32 other players, and no other quarterback, did this season. That’s 1,024 total snaps, for those keeping count at home.
Out of the 32 players to play every one of their teams’ snaps in 2017, 28 were offensive lineman, three were defensive players and the other was Matt Ryan.
Ryan has been a beacon of availability and reliability throughout his illustrious 10-year career with the Atlanta Falcons, missing just two total games due to a turf toe injury in 2009. His 5,036 total snaps played in the past five seasons ranks eighth among all NFL players, according to ESPN stats and information.
Ryan suffered a bit of a regression following his MVP campaign in 2016. He threw for 4,095 yards, 20 touchdowns and had 12 interceptions in 2017, although many of those pics can be attributed to some bad luck in the form of drops falling right into defenders’ hands. The Boston College product did, however, manage to lead the Falcons to the playoffs for the sixth time in his career.
Below is the complete list of the players who played every snap for their team this season, among them, another familiar name: Falcons’ left tackle Jake Matthews.
