If you could sign one Packers 2019 free agent to the Falcons, who would it be?

There are some worthy choices, plus some traps.

The Green Bay Packers are a team with a lot of big names hitting free agency heading into 2019, meaning there might be an opportunity for the Falcons to scoop some up. There just aren’t as many appealing players as there are big names.

As has become typical around these parts, we’re asking which Packers free agent you’d add to Atlanta if you held the team’s pursestrings. But beware, there are names that would have been tempting three years ago that are not now.

For example, Clay Matthews III, who has 2.5 sacks in his age 32 season and is probably on his way to being cooked. Or Randall Cobb, the once potent wide receiver who has been a shell of himself of late. Or even Mo Wilkerson, a guy I desperately wanted the Falcons to sign but hasn’t played in a full season since 2015 and will be 30 in March. Okay, I might still take a shot at Wilkerson.

After looking more fully through the list, my answer would definitely be Wilkerson, a player with a history of production who needs good health and a change of scenery, and would likely come at a discount. The Falcons are planning to use Deadrin Senat, Grady Jarrett and Jack Crawford plenty in 2019, one would wager, and Wilkerson would be a high-upside signing who at his very worst would probably be more useful than Terrell McClain for 20 snaps per game. My backup choice would probably be Bashaud Breeland, a cornerback I’ve always been fond of who could also benefit from better health and a new team.

How about you, though?
