Even though the Falcons defense did not play well against the Ravens, there were at least some bright spots on the afternoon for a unit that has been god awful all year. Let’s take a moment to celebrate the positives out of a defense that has had so few of them in 2018.
Vic Beasley
Coming out of college, Beasley’s athleticism was unquestioned. That was on display Sunday, as Vic scooped up a forced fumble and returned it for a long TD run. Vic may not be getting it done as a pass rusher, but watching him bring home a fumble for the TD is worth something.
Grady Jarrett
Speaking of forced fumbles, Jarrett was creating constant havoc, including forcing the fumble that Beasley was able to return for the TD. The Falcons defensive line has been bad all year, but Grady has been the lone consistently good player in that unit.
Deion Jones
It was great to see the Falcons star linebacker back on the field. While he showed some rust, he also reminded us why losing him was so painful. His speed and instincts showed up throughout the day as Jones consistently found himself around the ball. It was good to see him back on the field.
