Falcons Panthers inactives: Matt Gono, Terrell McClain, Kawann Short out, Julio Jones in

The Falcons and Panthers are facing off for a pretty meaningless game with both teams eyeing the offseason. While Julio Jones was announced as active earlier this morning, there’s not too many surprising inactives today.

The Falcons are keeping Giorgio “Italian Ice” Tavecchio, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Ryan Neal, Jeremy Langford, Matt Gono, Justin Zimmer, and Terrell McClain on the bench. Gono had seen some time at guard in practice but the Falcons ultimately decided against giving him snaps today. Terrell McClain loses his starting spot to Deadrin Senat. Julio Jones is apparently a full go after showing well in practice earlier today.

The Panthers have some big names inactive today, including starting quarterback Cam Newton, defensive tackle Kawann Short, and less notable players like Mose Frazier, Lorenzo Doss, Travaris Cadet, Jason Vander Laan, and Marquis Haynes.

The Panthers are definitely missing some big names after a pretty poor streak. The Falcons should have real competition if they are trying to lose this game.
