Julio Jones is having a hell of a year. He leads the league in receiving yards with 1,511, he’s racked up six touchdowns since the bye week, and he continues to prove that he’s one of the league’s best receivers. That’s why it’s particularly bad news that he was held out of Wednesday’s practice with a hip injury.
Dan Quinn confirmed Julio’s injury status to the Atlanta media before Wednesday’s practice.
#Falcons WR Julio Jones (hip) will not practice today.

A star receiver sitting out on a Wednesday isn’t cause for panic ... yet. Jones’ status on Thursday and especially Friday should tell us how physically ready he is as Sunday approaches.
Atlanta’s coming off of a big win against the Cardinals, but they’ve also been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. So it really doesn’t matter if Julio’s not able to go this week, I guess. But they’ll have a better shot at a win over the division-rival Panthers if he’s good to go.
