Falcons’ Brother of the Week vs. Packers

For the Brotherhood!

Atlanta Falcons

Hey Falcoholics, it’s me, Evan Birchfield. This new segment known as “Brother of the Week” will highlight an Atlanta Falcons player who did a lot for the team in a game, but won’t receive headlines for it. For example, players like Julio Jones won’t typically make the article as they always get headlines.

Without further ado, the Brother of the Week for Week 14 is RB Ito Smith. In defeat, it’s usually difficult to find the positives, but Ito has flashed in the few chances he has gotten this season.

Last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, RB Tevin Coleman started the game, but Ito had the better day. Ito finished with 11 carries for 60 yards and thre receptions for 14 yards. Not exactly exciting numbers, but he had more rushing yards in that game than Tevin Coleman has had in the last three games combined. I hope as the 2018 season dwindles down, Ito will get more than his season-high 11 carries in a game. The Falcons used a fourth-round pick on Ito in the 2018 NFL Draft, so let’s see what happens if we run him 20 times a game, why not?

The Falcons face the Cardinals this week. So tell me who, in your opinion, deserves the title of “Brother of the Week” in Week 15? As always, you can find me on Twitter @EvanBirchfield. Thanks for reading, and GO FALCONS!
