The Falcoholic’s Falcons Fan Spotlight: Get to know Richard Parker

Let’s hear from the fans!

Richard Parker

Greetings Falcoholics. I’m back with another Fan Spotlight to highlight a fellow Falcons fan for the week.

This week’s Fan Spotlight is on Richard Parker.

How did you become an Atlanta Falcons fan?

Growing up in Augusta, GA I became a fan of the team. I especially remember the ‘high-stepping’ Deion Sanders.

What’s your favorite Atlanta Falcons’ moment?

It’s difficult to just pick one, so I’ll give you two. First off, watching Morten Anderson kick a game-winning 38-yard field goal in the 1998 NFC Championship against the Minnesota Vikings. It was important to me because it sent the Falcons to their first ever Super Bowl appearance. The second moment, also coincidentally happened against the Vikings. Mike Vick’s infamous touchdown run, where he made two Vikings defenders run into each other. Those two moments are very important to me.

What’s your outlook on the future of the Atlanta Falcons?

The injury bug finally got us in 2018. I have lost no optimism though, as I expect the Falcons to be back in contention for the Super Bowl in 2019. With a solid free agency and high pick in the NFL Draft, I have no doubts that the Falcons will be back.

I would like to personally thank Richard Parker for appearing as this week’s Fan Spotlight. Make sure to give Richard a follow on Twitter @UpsguyatlParker. If you want to be the next ‘Fan Spotlight’ or know of someone who deserves to be, let me know on Twitter where you can find me at @EvanBirchfield. Thanks for reading, and GO FALCONS!
