Falcons vs. Packers: Vote for the defensive player of the game

No, really. Please.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

You know what? I can’t think of any player that actually stood out in a significant way for the entire game. The defense sucked, even with Deion Jones in (and his dropped pick six), so we’re changing things up. We’re going to vote on some random-as-hell plays because that’s all we have. Embrace the darkness.

Brian Poole’s hit on Aaron Rodgers

For whatever reason, Brian Poole loves to hit Aaron Rodgers hard. Really hard. Every time we play the Packers, he seeks him out like a heat-seeking missile. Sunday was no different, as Poole laid the wood on Rodgers as the QB tried to slide. It was a clean hit, but it initiated a brief fight between the two teams. Wooo big hits.

Foye’s pass defense

I like Foye Oluokon. I think he has a bright future on this team. He’s had some growing pains but he’s shown that he could really develop into a good player. As such, he had a very good pass breakup against Jimmy Graham that likely saved a touchdown. Let’s celebrate the small victories.

The brief appearance of a pass rush

Hey, the Packers had a mostly dead offensive line and the Falcons defensive line took advantage of it for a very brief, but very encouraging moment. It was almost like there was something to be happy about, until reality sunk back in.

Alford not committing a penalty once

I think this happened. I’m not positive, though.
