Falcons vs. Packers: Vote for the offensive player of the game

A few players did stand out in a good way.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Green Bay Packers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons lost again but they did manage to score 20 points on the road and outside. Small victories, I guess.

There were some good individual performances, though the sum of the parts was another collection of awful. Vote below if you’d like, or just yell at me in the comments. Whatever. Life eventually ends in death.

Julio Jones

With eight receptions for 102 yards and two TDs, Julio was hardly the reason the Falcons dropped another game this year. While other receivers were dropping the ball and the offense mostly sputtered, Julio was one of the few bright spots on the day.

Ito Smith

After struggling to run the ball for weeks, Ito Smith was finally given a few more opportunities and he did well with them. With 11 carries — one more than Tevin Coleman — Ito netted 60 yards for a healthy 5.5 yards per attempt average. More importantly, he looked like the more decisive runner, showcasing good balance and elusiveness. He’s been a pleasant surprise in this horrifying season.

Matt Ryan

Despite the pick-six, Ryan was mostly sharp on the afternoon. Drops kept his numbers from being better yet again. He finished 28 for 42 for 262 yards and three TDs and the one pick-six. It’s frustrating to see him perform well each week, only to have various members of the offense not live up to their end of the bargain. He’s not perfect, but he’s definitely not the problem with this offense right now.

Nobody

You know what? The offense only managed 20 points. They sucked. We’re not gonna celebrate anything. Vote for misery.
