The Atlanta Falcons moved to 4-9 with an utterly embarrassing blowout at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. Aside from a ref-aided opening drive, the Falcons did not pose any palpable threat to the Packers, moving their losing streak to five as they were handled in every facet of the game. The loss ensures the first losing season since Dan Quinn assumed coaching duties in 2015.
Sambrailo gets the start
The biggest — yet not unexpected — news to start the day was Ty Sambrailo getting the nod at right tackle over Ryan Schraeder. Schraeder has not looked like himself all season, and with Coach Quinn willing to make some changes along the offensive line, he was relegated to the bench in favor of Sambrailo. It went...okay?
Julio’s having another tremendous season
It’s near impossible to focus on anything positive about the 2018 iteration of the Atlanta Falcons, but Julio Jones would be at the top of the list. He’s having another Julio season — this time with touchdowns! — and continued his torrid run with a 106 yard, two touchdown performance against Green Bay. His good work against the Packers solidified his fifth consecutive year with over 1,400 receiving yards.
Dave’s recap
He coined it “The Lambeaurrassment,” and I think that’s an apt description of what took place. If you were the one of the lucky few who conveniently had “something come up” and couldn’t watch this one, Dave breaks down all four quarters in what was an atrocious game.
The Falcoholic Live Postgame Special
Kevin Knight does a thankless job. Each and every week, after the hideous losses, he helms The Falcoholic Live Postgame Special and immediately relives the atrocity. Bonus points for getting yelled at on Facebook.
This week he was once again joined by Adnan Ikic, and as always they offered a sobering and fair assessment of what we saw on the field in Green Bay. If you missed the initial live broadcast you can catch the replay here.
