Dan Quinn shared that news with the media on Friday.
Defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel simply said, “We’ll see, we’ll see,” about Jones’ status when I was there for media availability on Wednesday. But he may have tipped his hand a bit when he also shared that this week was the first time Jones had returned to the practice huddle with the starters as opposed to running with the scout team, as he had done since he was activated from injured reserve a few weeks ago.
The Ravens offense and Lamar Jackson present a lot of challenges, and this defense has many weaknesses. Jones’ return won’t automatically fix the pass rush or the coverage woes. But his experience, speed, athleticism, and veteran presence make this defense better, and we’re glad to have him back this week.
Here’s hoping Jones’ return goes smoothly and without any setbacks. We’re looking forward to seeing him out there.
