We’ve been joking all season that Dan Quinn refuses to give any hard answers on player injuries, but is always optimistic they could play at any time. A guy will be “close” to returning to practice for weeks. His vague but optimistic responses are the perfect nonanswers to keep us all guessing.
What is it this week? Let’s try to piece it together from a handful of tweets I assume comes from one Dan Quinnism.
Dan Quinn said he's hopeful Deion Jones will play Sunday but not making any promises.

Dan Quinn said it is trending in that way for Deion Jones to play Sunday, but that he doesn't want to make a promise he can't deliver on.

Dan Quinn on if Deion Jones will play Sunday: I feel good (about) it. #Falcons

Dan Quinn on if Deion Jones will play Sunday, "We certainly hope so."
— William McFadden (@willmcfadden) November 29, 2018
A whole lot of hope he’s trending to a place Quinn can feel good about.
What does this mean? I’m guessing not much.
Jones has been back at practice for weeks but is still not a full participant. Reports before the Saints game said everything looks fine with his foot, but he’s still experiencing some pain.
The team probably won’t put him out if his foot hurts if only because this season is already over. There’s nothing to gain by getting him out there too soon, and only increases the chances he hurts himself again.
Unless Jones puts in a full practice tomorrow, he should be out on Sunday against the Ravens.
