NFL Week 12 Sunday open thread and schedule

If you want to talk about football and wash away the Falcons’ Thursday night game, now’s the time.

The Falcons are done, both playing this week and engaging in a heated playoff chase. That means your Sunday is freed up to shovel snow or enjoy your chosen hobby or watch more football. Because many of you will choose the last option, we’re here with an open thread for your discussing needs.

There aren’t a ton of good games on the slate today, but if you’re still an NFC playoff watcher there’s plenty to feast your eyes upon. Here’s what’s coming up.

Raiders @ Ravens, 1 p.m.

Jaguars @ Bills, 1 p.m.

Seahawks @ Panthers, 1 p.m.

Browns @ Bengals, 1 p.m.

Patriots @ Jets, 1 p.m.

Giants @ Eagles, 1 p.m.

49ers @ Buccaneers, 1 p.m.

Cardinals @ Chargers, 4:05 p.m.

Dolphins @ Colts, 4:25 p.m.

Steelers @ Broncos, 4:25 p.m.

Packers @ Vikings, 8:20 p.m.

For the pure and simple reason that I am a hater and wish to see other NFC South teams fail now, I’m rooting against the Panthers hard. A Seahawks win would further dent Carolina, after all. I care less about Tampa Bay vs. San Francisco because the Bucs are stuck fast either way and I wouldn’t mind Atlanta lining up against a fourth place schedule next year, if it came to that, while the Packers and Vikings are interesting chiefly because that could actually be a good game.

Settle in and let us know who you’re rooting for.
