We are all very tired of this Falcons season being the roller coaster is has become. It would be nice to know what this team is, if it is not an amorphous football blob taking whatever shape would be most confusing in the average week, but I don’t think we’re gonna get there anytime soon.
Case in point, this Cowboys game. A loss would all but doom these Falcons, if you’re still of the belief that they can push for the playoffs in the first place, but would make barely any sense given this team’s ability and frankly drive at home with a 4-5 record against yet another NFC East team. A win, meanwhile, would keep the season at least nominally alive and force us to all watch the Falcons play the Saints with huge stakes hours after stuffing ourselves full of turkey and cranberry sauce. Either way, this thing isn’t over, and this team still can surprise you from week-to-week.
All that said, this should be a winnable game, and the Falcons should not fall prey to the mistake of looking past Dallas. Let us hope they do not, and please use this as your open thread for the day.
