Falcons vs. Cowboys: Atlanta will wear throwbacks for the third and final time tomorrow

We’re still waiting for the changeover to these uniforms on a full-time basis.

The Atlanta Falcons will win or lose in style tomorrow, because they’ll be wearing their throwback logo and 90s black jerseys and helmets on Sunday against the Cowboys. It’s the third and final time they’ll do so in 2018, at which point we’ll be left to pine for them until 2019.

The Falcons have been flirting with these uniforms a little more each year, though they also rolled out some (in my humble opinion) pretty slick red ones for Color Rush last year. The team has been playing in their current duds, with modifications and alternates here and there, since the 2003 season. It’s fair to wonder if there might be change on the wind, given the warm reception for different looks than what fans have become accustomed to, and I still wonder if the decision to wear the 90s jerseys three times in 2018 might augur a change in 2019.

And for those who view these as cursed jerseys and whatnot, the Falcons are 1-1 in them this season and could (please) be 2-1 late Sunday afternoon. I’m still hoping the Falcons will consider making the switch full-time.
