The Atlanta Falcons recently activated Deion Jones from injured reserve, giving us some hope he could play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Atlanta’s defense hasn’t looked anywhere close to the 2017 version with Jones out, and they could definitely use the help in a must-win game against a beatable Cowboys team.
The help isn’t coming, as head coach Dan Quinn has already ruled out the Pro Bowl linebacker.
Deion Jones will not play vs. the Cowboys, Matt Bryant will kick against the Cowboys. #Falcons

Dan Quinn said Deion Jones is close but not ready yet

“Close” is worrisome with Atlanta needing to win on Sunday, followed up by Atlanta’s Thanksgiving showdown with the unstoppable New Orleans Saints. Atlanta will certainly need Deion’s help if they want any chance to beat Drew Brees.
Quinn may be playing it safe with Jones. A few more days of rest then unleashing him against the Saints may have been the plan all along. That’s probably wishful thinking, but you definitely want him as healthy as possible for Thursday’s game.
