Falcons safety Damontae Kazee didn’t begin 2018 as a starter. He wowed us during the preseason but was firmly entrenched as Ricardo Allen’s backup. Then the Falcons lost Allen to an achilles tear at the end of September and the rest is history.
Kazee went into today’s game as the league leader in interceptions with four. He added yet another interception during the second quarter of today’s game on a poorly executed trick play by the Browns.

Kazee now has five interceptions on the year, which leads the league. No Falcons defender has racked up five interceptions since Thomas DeCoud did it in 2012. DeCoud ended that season with six interceptions; if Kazee continues at this pace, he’ll surely eclipse that number.
In short, Kazee is a beast and we’re lucky to have him. Discuss!
